| David Flippo is hiding from Nevadans.
New reporting reveals that after Flippo failed to file his financial disclosure, one Reno voter is taking matters into her own hands, filing for an investigation into Flippo’s finances.
The voter — a member of Flippo’s own party — slammed Flippo for “not being transparent,” questioning “If he is elected to office, is he going to keep this district the people in this district informed?”
REMINDER: Flippo’s campaign treasurer, Thomas Datwyler, faced “FEC penalties, a criminal investigation, and a Justice Department complaint for his previous work across multiple states.” Not to mention Datwyler was also listed as disgraced former Congressman George Santos’ former campaign treasurer.

- “As voters we have a right to know this,” says Susan Fisher, a Nevada Congressional 2 District voter. “And I think we have an obligation to get to know this information.”
- Financial disclosure information is required by law for those running in a congressional district.
- In our report from early August, we showed who filed such reports with the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives. All CD 2 candidates who qualified filed those reports.
- One name was missing David Flippo’s.
- Fisher’s research came up with the same information.
- That’s when she said she filed for an investigation into Flippo.
- “It tells me that there is something that he doesn’t want us to know,” she says. “He’s not being transparent.”
- Transparency is one of the reasons such reports are required.
- Fisher, a…registered Republican, says she’s probably more engaged than many of her fellow voters. But she says the information on Flippo’s finances should be available to everyone. Whether they look up the information. That’s on them she says.
- But she says she wants to know as it tells her more about the candidate, and in her opinion what future action we might expect from the candidate if elected.
- “How transparent is he going to be if he is in office?” Fisher asks. “And who is he going to be serving when he is in office? If he is elected to office, is he going to keep this district the people in this district informed?
- Her four-page report to the Department of Justice Public Integrity Section was mailed yesterday.
- It’s a thorough accounting of when David Flippo filed for CD 2 candidacy, when he also filed for CD 4 candidacy down in Clark County, and how he neglected filing financial disclosure reports.
- “Nevadans have a right to know. The voters have a right to know. That he is flouting the law.”
- Fisher says she doesn’t know if she’ll ever see financial disclosure reports from David Flippo filed with the clerk of the U.S House of Representatives.
