A new report from Mother Jones highlights the toxic agenda of Mike Garcia and the Republican Study Committee’s – which represents nearly 75% of the House Republican Conference – priorities if they were to claim a majority. Here is a sample of RSC Member Garcia’s disastrous plan for America:

Raise the Social Security eligibility age, delaying when seniors can access their hard-earned benefits.

Block prescription drug pricing reform. After voting against capping insulin costs at $35 per month, the RSC wants to block any further efforts to bring down drug prices.

End birthright citizenship. The RSC proposes eliminating the recognition of children born on US soil as automatic US citizens.

Eliminate government agencies that protect worker’s rights and help enforce consumer protection laws.

Further roll back climate change initiatives. The RSC wants to end all EPA grant programs.

Ban abortion nationwide. Overturning Roe wasn’t enough for Republicans – they want to ban a woman’s right to make personal health care decisions nationwide.

Attack transgender Americans, by reversing government acknowledgment of transgender individuals, forcing them to identify a gender the government assigns and barring funding for gender affirming surgeries in the military.

Put more guns on streets. Voting against commonsense and broadly popular gun reform laws wasn’t enough for the RSC – they want to put more guns on the streets and will make our country more prone to mass shootings.

Slash programs that help low-income families heat and cool their homes, puts food in kids’ stomachs and helps families access health care.
