THURSDAY: Will California Republicans Meet With Donald Trump?

Trump to Visit Capitol Hill & Force Republicans to Deal with Trump Ticket

This Thursday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will come to Capitol Hill for meetings with Speaker Paul Ryan, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republican Senate and House Members.

Will vulnerable California Congressmen Jeff Denham, David Valadao, and Steve Knight also meet with Donald Trump to finally get some clarity on their support for him?

After Donald Trump won the Republican nomination last Tuesday:

Denham hasn’t said a word, but previously tweeted he’d support the nominee.

Valadao also hasn’t made a peep, but previously said, “Absolutely, I’m going to stick with the winner from my party, obviously.”

Knight remained noncommittal and said he was still “working on figuring out what I am going to do with the presidential race.”

Clearly, these vulnerable members have a lot of questions for Donald Trump, given that they will share the Trump Ticket in November.

“With Donald Trump visiting Capitol Hill this week, California House Republicans Denham, Valadao, and Knight are waking up from a bad dream, only to find that it’s reality,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “No matter how evasive, vague and downright confusing House Republicans are in their reaction to Trump securing the nomination, the Trump Ticket is real, and it is damaging.”
