David Valadao and House Republicans face a looming deadline to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, which have helped millions of Americans afford their health care.
Millions of Americans will soon receive notice that their premiums will skyrocket – leaving hardworking Central Valley families with the burden of paying massively more for health insurance or losing it altogether.
Valadao knows he’s in trouble – Donald Trump’s own pollster advocated for permanent extension of the Affordable Care Act tax credits in an op-ed, making clear Republicans will lose the majority if they fail to act.
Realizing he is doomed, Valadao admitted he has failed the American people and attempted to paper over his disastrous vote for the Big, Ugly Law by introducing a temporary extension to Affordable Care Act Tax credits until after the 2026 midterms. But let’s be clear: this is nothing more than a political stunt.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“David Valadao and Republicans are responsible for skyrocketing health care costs for millions of Americans. Phony moderate Valadao has nothing to run on and no meaningful accomplishment, which is why he is relying on a short-term band-aid to salvage his seat in Congress.” |
