Today, Matt Mowers is campaigning with Nikki Haley, who is campaigning feverishly for 2024.
Mowers, who has caught heat on his Trump support in a GOP primary, may face the same heat again campaigning with Haley. He’s trying to split the difference – just days ago Mowers again pushed that the 2020 election was not fairly won.
To review, here is a brief rundown Nikki Haley’s record of flip-flopping on Trump:
-
2016: “We saw and looked at true hate in the eyes last year in Charleston. I will not stop until we fight a man [Trump] that chooses not to disavow the KKK. That is not a part of our party. That is not who we want as president.”
-
2017: “Our country faces enormous challenges here at home and internationally. I am honored that the president-elect has asked me to join his team.”
-
2020: “Donald Trump has always put America first. And he has earned four more years as president.
-
2021: “He’s [Trump] not going to run for federal office again. “I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture. I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far. We need to acknowledge he let us down. He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”
-
2021: “He [Trump] has the ability to get strong people elected, and he has the ability to move the ball, and I hope that he continues to do that. We need him in the Republican Party. I don’t want us to go back to the days before Trump.”
DCCC Spokesperson James Singer:
“Matt Mowers and Nikki Haley are a perfect combination, craven and phony insiders desperate to attract the GOP base.”
