Washington, DC— This week, MI-07 congressional candidate Tom Barrett headlined an event with self-described “domestic terrorist” Tammy Clark, the executive director of the far-right group Stand Up Michigan. The two offered advice on what to do if the FBI questions someone who took part in the January 6 insurrection.
Clark has been very open about her radical and dangerous beliefs. She referred to herself as a “domestic terrorist,” claimed that the Declaration of Independence permits the dissolution of the federal government, and claimed that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump. She even called people who believe in climate change “STUPID mother f’ers” and asserted that “The gov’t and their MSM [Mainstream Media] puppets are lying to you” about COVID.
The event comes after Barrett attempted a makeover on his website in a failed attempt to hide his extreme anti-abortion position. Barrett previously called himself “100% PRO-LIFE – NO EXCEPTIONS” but has since desperately tried and failed to cover up his radical views.
“Tom Barrett is desperate to hide his dangerous views from mid-Michigan voters, but campaigning with far-right extremists proves who the real Tom Barrett is,” said DCCC Spokesperson Matt Corridoni. “Voters see through Barrett’s feeble attempts to hide his record and will reject him at the ballot box in November.”
