| Hundreds of union laborers have been laid off from their jobs working on the Gateway project, all because Donald Trump refuses to release federal funding for the project unless he gets his name on the side of a building.
But vulnerable New Jersey Republican Congressman Tom Kean Jr. hasn’t said a word.
Laborers are “fuming” that politics are uprooting their lives. Brent Booker, the general president of the Laborers’ International Union, said: “This isn’t an America First agenda, this is a Trump first agenda, and we’ve got to put that aside and get our members back to work.” But Kean Jr. continues to put Trump first and refuses to call the president out by name.
Here’s a brief timeline of Kean Jr.’s refusal to act to save Gateway funding and union jobs:
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Hundreds of union workers are out of a job but Tom Kean Jr. still can’t bring himself to call out Donald Trump by name. Does he have no shame?”
