Tom Kean Jr., who voted against protecting the right to choose in New Jersey and recently came out in favor of a nationwide abortion ban, knows his stance against choice is out of step with voters in New Jersey’s 7th district.
Now, he’s attempting again to clean up his abortion position with Charles Stile – but he only made it worse:

Kean’s “jumbled responses” on abortion rights in recent weeks have added “more confusion” about his true position.

In a conversation with Charles Stile, Kean claimed he “misspoke” when he earlier professed support for a nationwide abortion ban, but in the same breath made clear he wants a nationwide “time limit” – a ban – on abortions.
Tom Kean Jr. can’t get his story straight, but his actions on abortion have been clear: Kean voted against protecting abortion rights in New Jersey earlier this year, and his own website says he would “fight every step of the way to protect the unborn from egregious abortion laws” if elected to Congress.
DCCC spokesperson James Singer:
“It’s clear as day: Tom Kean Jr. opposes allowing women and doctors to make decisions about abortion. This has always been his position.”
