Despite electricity prices rising twice as fast as inflation this year, Tom Kean Jr. voted to raise energy bills on hardworking Americans yesterday.
House Republicans pushed through an extreme funding bill that slashes $4.1 million from New Jersey for programs designed to lower utility bills for American families.
The program most hurt by Kean Jr. and Republicans’ spending bill is the Weatherization Assistance Program, which reduces energy costs for families through energy efficiency.
REMINDER: Under Kean Jr.’s Big, Ugly Law alone, New Jerseyans would see a spike of $223 in annual energy bills.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Tom Kean Jr. has now voted TWICE this year to raise energy costs on hardworking New Jerseyans. His vote is both political malpractice and incredibly cruel to millions of households struggling to pay their bills. As working families across the country see their utility bills go up and up, the DCCC will make sure everyone knows Kean Jr. is to blame when they vote in 2026.”
