| It has now been 11 weeks since Congressman Tom Kean Jr. last voted and was seen in person or on camera.
In an interview with NJ.com, his father Tom Kean Sr. confessed that the New Jersey Congressman has not been working on behalf of his constituents “for some months,” stated that his son would still not return for multiple weeks, and raised further questions about whether or not Kean Jr. intends to run for reelection. On Kean Jr. remaining out for multiple more weeks:
- The ex-governor did not reveal the ailment but said Kean Jr., 57, could be “out” in two to three weeks. He added it’s unclear when his son will be ready to head back to Congress.
On Kean Jr. not being able to represent his constituents “for some months”:
- Asked if he understands constituents wanting to know more about their congressman’s condition, Kean Sr. said: “I understand that.” “But I think what they deserve to know and should know is he hasn’t been able to do his full job to any degree for some months,” he added.
