| For six straight weeks, Gabe Evans has refused to address the health care crisis he created – even saying he “roll[s] [his] eyes” at the idea of lowering Coloradans’ health care premiums.
As millions of Americans begin shopping for health care tomorrow during the start of open enrollment, Coloradans will log on and see higher health care premiums because Evans would rather be on vacation than work to find a bipartisan solution to their health care crisis.
Because Evans and Republicans refuse to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, 183,000 Coloradans will face – on average – more than double the cost next year, forcing many to abandon their health coverage altogether. This is despite the overwhelming majority of Americans who support Congress extending the ACA tax credits.
Coloradans in Evans’ district could see their premiums shoot up nearly 200%.
Yesterday, the DCCC released a new digital ad in Colorado’s eighth congressional district to hold Evans accountable for his refusal to take action and failure to lower costs.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Gabe Evans is failing Coloradans. Open enrollment begins tomorrow, but Evans is on vacation and millions of Americans will face higher costs – or be forced to go without health care – because he refuses to take action. Evans will lose his seat next year because of this cruelty.” |
