TOMORROW: 24 Million Americans Will Face Sticker Shock When They Shop for Their Health Care

November 1 marks the start date for ACA Open Enrollment – and eye-popping price hikes because of Republican agenda

For six straight weeks, Republicans have refused to address the health care crisis they created.

Tomorrow marks the start of open enrollment for millions of Americans shopping for health care, and because House Republicans have concluded they’d rather be on vacation than working to find a bipartisan solution, millions of hardworking American families will log on and see higher health care premiums. This is despite the overwhelming majority of Americans who support Congress extending the ACA tax credits.

Because Republicans refuse to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, 24 million Americans will face, on average, more than double the cost next year, forcing many to abandon their health coverage altogether.

Yesterday, the DCCC released a new digital ad to hold Republicans accountable for their failure to take action and raise costs.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Republicans are failing the American people. Open enrollment begins tomorrow, but Republicans are on vacation and millions of Americans will face higher costs – or be forced to go without health care – because they want to shut the government down. They will lose the House majority next year because of their cruelty.”
