| Donald Trump and House Republicans have refused to extend Affordable Care Act tax credits, causing health insurance premiums to sky-rocket for tens of millions of Americans.
As a result, numbers published today by the federal government show nearly 1.4 million fewer Americans have enrolled in ACA coverage this year following expiration of the enhanced tax credits.
At a rambling speech in Michigan, Donald Trump instructed Republicans to “confront” the ACA, renewing his goal of repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.
Deputy Speaker Johnson, along with House Republicans in competitive districts, including Jen Kiggans, Tom Kean Jr., and Gabe Evans, among many others, have also issued support for repealing the ACA.
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“Taking orders from their real speaker, Doanld Trump, Republicans are hellbent on destroying the Affordable Care Act and making life more expensive for millions of hardworking Americans. A truly remarkable campaign promise for the on-year.”
