Yesterday, former President Trump once again bragged about overturning Roe v. Wade, which paved the way for states to implement draconian abortion and IVF bans.
Since the Court’s decision in Dobbs, Mariannette Miller-Meeks has championed efforts to restrict abortion care nationwide, including co-sponsoring the Life at Conception Act – a national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life that would also effectively outlaw IVF nationwide.
Trump’s order to overturn Roe v. Wade set the groundwork for states to implement radical abortion bans. Mariannette Miller-Meeks championed those efforts in the state legislature, voting for a bill that could jeopardize Iowa womens’ access to abortion, birth control, and IVF.
Miller-Meeks also supported a constitutional amendment that would eliminate the right to an abortion in Iowa with no exceptions – an amendment that could show up on the ballot this November.
