Yesterday, former President Trump once again bragged about overturning Roe v. Wade, which paved the way for states to implement draconian abortion and IVF bans.
Since the Court’s decision in Dobbs, Nunn has joined his extreme colleagues to restrict abortion care nationwide, including joining a group that has continually endorsed the Life at Conception Act and other anti-abortion bills that would ban abortion nationwide with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life and restrict IVF nationwide.
Trump’s order to overturn Roe v. Wade set the groundwork for states to implement radical abortion bans. Nunn championed these efforts in the state legislature, voting for “the most restrictive abortion ban in the nation” and voting for a bill that could jeopardize Iowa womens’ access to abortion, birth control, and IVF.
Nunn also supported a constitutional amendment that would eliminate the right to an abortion in Iowa with no exceptions – an amendment that could show up on the ballot this November.
