Trump Renews Threats Social Security & Medicare While House Republicans Continue to Endorse Him

Yesterday, Donald Trump reiterated his support for cutting the retirement and health care programs that millions of Americans rely on, reminding voters that MAGA extremists are coming after Social Security and Medicare.

Trump’s loyal House Republicans are a step ahead of the former president. The Republican Study Committee, who’s platform was spearheaded by Speaker Johnson, has already proposed a budget that would raise the retirement age, reduce benefits, and privatize Medicare.

Vulnerable House Republicans have backed the Republican Study Committee, which is trying to cut Social Security and Medicare – and as more of them continue to bend the knee and endorse Trump, they will most certainly fall in line behind his renewed efforts to cut these crucial programs.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“House Republicans are all in on doing Trump’s bidding, including his attacks on critical programs older Americans rely on. The fact that they are doubling down by bending the knee to Donald Trump as he is actively proposing cuts to Social Security and Medicare shows just how out of touch they really are – and it will cost them in November.”
