Trump supporter Tom Garrett is following in the footsteps of his toxic leader Donald Trump who has continuously stoked violence and encouraged voter intimidation on the campaign trail. After armed supporters of Tom Garrett and Donald Trump “protested” the office of Democratic candidate Jane Dittmar, Tom Garrett defended their display of intimidation on twitter.
“Donald Trump has thrown our politics into the gutter, and Tom Garrett is eager to follow him there with his dangerous encouragement of intimidation,” said Jermaine House of the DCCC. “Instead of deescalating what could have been a violent incident, Tom Garrett reacted more like barbarian than a person running for Congress. Tom Garrett actions further prove he is unfit to lead and represent the people of Virginia.”
