This Thursday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will come to Capitol Hill for meetings with Speaker Paul Ryan, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republican Senate and House Members. Given Blum’s support for Donald Trump as the nominee, will he sit down for a meeting to iron out plans for the Trump Ticket, like campaign travel to Iowa’s 1st District or joint Blum fundraisers?
“Amazingly, Congressman Rod Blum thinks that Donald Trump should be President of the United States, which is absolutely no different than an endorsement of his reckless views on national security, vicious attacks on women and people with disabilities, and much more. One is left wondering if Rod Blum is getting ready to meet with Trump this week to hash out their shared platform,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law.
To be clear, supporting the bigoted, misogynistic, national security danger that is Donald Trump is not mandatory for Republicans. Rod Blum made his choice and he needs to be ready to face the consequences of putting Trump Iowa.
