This Thursday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will come to Capitol Hill for meetings with Speaker Paul Ryan, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other Republican Senate and House Members. Given Zeldin’s endorsement of Donald Trump, will he sit down for a meeting to iron out plans for the Trump Ticket, like campaign travel to New York’s 1st District or joint Trump fundraisers?
After Donald Trump won the Republican nomination last Tuesday, not only did Zeldin endorse Trump, he touted his extensive ties with the presumptive Republican nominee, which included having dinner with the Donald.
“Amazingly, Lee Zeldin thinks that Donald Trump should be President of the United States, endorsing Trump’s suggestions to punish women for getting abortions, default on our country’s debt and more. Surely Zeldin will take this opportunity, with Trump on Capitol Hill, to sit down and iron out plans for this damaging Trump/Zeldin ticket,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC.
