Today, four-time indicted former President Donald Trump is visiting the South Bronx despite his sub-zero chance of winning New York’s presidential election.
Donald Trump’s visit to New York isn’t coincidental and coincides with the Senate’s scheduled vote on a bipartisan border deal. Yet despite vulnerable New York Republicans’ rhetoric claiming they want to address border security, they’re all refusing to support the bipartisan bill — at the direction of Trump himself.
Vulnerable New York Republicans Nick LaLota, Anthony D’Esposito, Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams have all endorsed the former president – Lawler even served as a 2016 delegate for and worked to re-elect Trump in 2020. Alongside their MAGA leader Elise Stefanik, LaLota, D’Esposito, and Molinaro planned to attend tonight’s rally to show their loyalty to Trump.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty released the following statement:
“On every issue, vulnerable New York Republicans have pledged allegiance to their dangerous, far-right party leader at the expense of New Yorkers.
“Together, they’ve propped up an extreme agenda that is pushing to ban abortion nationwide, play politics with our border, defund law enforcement, and hike taxes for hardworking families.
“Nick LaLota, Anthony D’Esposito, Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams are signing their pink slips by standing proudly by their Republican Party leader, Donald Trump.”
