When Mike Lawler voted to protect his criminally-indicted colleague instead of expelling him, he defended his cowardly inaction with false arguments, claiming that the Ethics Committee “make a swift determination on this, that can satisfy the entire body of Congress.”
Well – it’s been more than 60 days and Rep. Santos is still a member of Congress thanks to Lawler.
It’s clear Lawler has no intention of keeping his word and holding his criminal colleague accountable.
DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“If Mike Lawler actually cared about New Yorkers, he would stop protecting a Congressperson who is a serial fraudster and admitted criminal. It’s well past time for Lawler to expel George Santos and stop hiding behind a bureaucratic loophole to avoid doing his job.”
REMINDER: Read the DCCC memo exposing the false narrative of Republicans referring George Santos to the ethics committee as a ‘fast process’ HERE.
