Two Months After Nick LaLota Protected George Santos, the Indicted Criminal is Still Serving in Congress

When Nick Lalota voted to protect his criminally-indicted colleague instead of expelling him, he defended his cowardly inaction with false arguments. LaLota rationalized his terrible vote by saying, “we expect a result within 60 days and for the terrible liar to be gone, by resignation or expulsion, before August recess.”

Well – it’s been more than 60 days and August recess begins next week. Rep. Santos is still a member of Congress thanks to LaLota.

It’s clear LaLota has no intention of keeping his word and holding his criminal colleague accountable.

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“If Nick LaLota actually cared about Long Islanders, he would stop protecting a Congressperson who is a serial fraudster and admitted criminal. It’s well past time for LaLota to expel George Santos and stop hiding behind a bureaucratic loophole to avoid doing his job.”
