Today, two-time failed candidate John James announced his intent to lose another election, this time for Michigan’s 10th Congressional district. James’ toxic record of partisan politics has previously been rejected by voters in Michigan’s new 10th Congressional district twice, and he enters the race with massive credibility issues and significant baggage.
After his most recent loss, James propagated the “Big Lie” as he refused to acknowledge his defeat and spread unfounded claims of election fraud to silence Michigan voters – conspiracies which fueled the deadly January 6th riot attacking our democracy.
In his previous campaign, James repeatedly came under scrutiny for threatening health coverage for Michiganders with pre-existing conditions, misleading voters about his business record after his company took millions in tax breaks, cozying up to far-right extremists like the Proud Boys, and running a campaign bankrolled by dangerous, far-right billionaires like Betsy DeVos’ family and Dick Uihlein.
“John James is a back-to-back loser who has proven he’ll always put himself and his extreme partisan politics over what’s best for Michigan,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Michiganders haven’t forgotten about James’ toxic record of threatening their health care, lying about his business record, and spreading conspiracies to undermine our democracy and silence Michigan voters. MI-10 voters already rejected failed candidate John James twice, and a third disastrous candidacy will end no differently.”
