The Supreme Court has officially overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminating the constitutional right to abortion for millions of women and undoing 50 years of precedent. It’s a future that Tyler Kistner has been working toward for years – and now he will have to own up to his extreme, deeply unpopular positions.
Kistner previously said he’s “100% pro-life” and wanted to cut of all federal funding to Planned Parenthood, and he is backed by radical groups who want to ban abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest.
Make no mistake: Tyler Kistner and the Republican Party are on the wrong side of this issue. Polling conducted after the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion overturning Roe shows: by a two-to-one margin, people oppose Roe being overturned; 80% of people believe abortion should be decided between a woman and her doctor; and nearly two-thirds of people oppose the GOP’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.
Tyler Kistner will be held accountable for his party’s role in decimating women’s reproductive freedoms and their plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.
DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn:
“Tyler Kistner and his party bear responsibility for the devastating Supreme Court decision eliminating the constitutional right to an abortion for millions of women. It’s a future Tyler Kistner has worked toward for years – and we will remind Minnesota voters of his cruel extremism and effort to take away their freedoms every day until November.”
