U.S. Jobless Claims Hit Lowest Level Since Pandemic Began (Again), Signaling Strength of Democrats’ Economic Agenda

U.S. Jobless Claims Drop to 310,000, Another Pandemic Low As Democrats Reboot Economy

In yet another sign of success for Democrats’ economic recovery plan, today the U.S. Labor Department announced that jobless claims fell to 310,000 last week, the lowest reported numbers since the pandemic began and well below economists’ predictions.

Since President Biden and House Democrats’ economic agenda took effect, the U.S. economy has surged back to pre-pandemic levels, and more than 4.5 million Americans have gotten back on the job. This drastic decrease in unemployment comes even as Republicans threaten America’s health and economic progress by peddling wild lies and conspiracies about vaccines, mask wearing, and social distancing — all tools that will crush this pandemic for good and keep our economy on track.

“President Biden and House Democrats’ economic agenda delivered critical aid to reopen small businesses, support working class families with a middle class tax cut in the Biden Child Tax Credit, and provide resources to strengthen our fight against COVID-19,” said DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre. “Every single House Republican failed the American people by voting against this economic relief, and now their reckless peddling of COVID-19 conspiracies and vaccine misinformation risks not only Americans’ economic progress, but their lives as well.”
