Despite Republicans’ best efforts to obstruct our nation’s progress, Democrats are getting Americans back on the job in record numbers.
Today’s jobs report shows that unemployment claims dropped 36,000 last week to a new record low of 293,000, also marking the first time claims have fallen below 300,000 since March 2020.
Since President Biden and Congressional Democrats took office, their economic plan has gotten millions of Americans back to work, saved small businesses across the country, and brought our economy roaring back.
“These record low jobless claims are just the latest in a long line of evidence that House Democrats and President Biden are getting our economy back on track,” said DCCC Spokesperson Chris Taylor. “While extremist Republicans vote to tank our economy, spread lies about lifesaving COVID vaccines, and stand in the way of Americans’ economic success, House Democrats will continue to be the adults in the room and do the work of building back our economy even stronger.”
