UNH Poll Shows Republicans Are Out Of Step on Abortion

A new University of New Hampshire poll finds the Republicans in the NH-01 GOP primary are out of step with the position of more than 60% of New Hampshire voters on abortion.

Overturning Roe and making an America without women’s autonomy over their own bodies is what this Republican primary field is running on. 

• Karoline Leavitt has said “[Abortion] is not about women’s reproductive rights, it is not about women’s health.” After the leak of the draft SCOTUS opinion, Leavitt said she supported overturning Roe v. Wade, claiming overturning Roe would actually “give more rights to us as women” despite the draft decision explicitly taking the rights of women away.

• Matt Mowers is proudly “anti-abortion” and supportes overturning Roe. He previously attacked a Republican for supporting right to an abortion, and was endorsed in the past by a group who would ban all abortions with no exceptions and opposed the morning after pill.

• Gail Huff Brown has said “Roe v. Wade should be overturned” and supported draconian abortion bans in states like Texas and Oklahoma. Just days after the SCOTUS leak, Huff Brown affirmed her support overturning Roe v. Wade.
