| New reporting highlights how former prosecutor, labor attorney, and Councilmember Marni von Wilpert is running to “stand up for workers, level the playing field…and…unrig the economy for working people, not just the wealthy few.”
From prosecuting price-gouging corporations to helping write the Protecting the Right to Organize Act (PRO Act), von Wilpert plans to bring her record to Congress to see the job through for working people.
“One of my biggest priorities…is to finish this work, to come back as a member of Congress and finally get labor law reform across the finish line.”
Meanwhile, Trump-endorsed MAGA Jim Desmond is “aligned with the Trump administration that has set back workers’ rights by…decreasing workplace safety standards and firing hundreds of thousands of federal workers.” He “has opposed pro-labor policies, including minimum wage increases for contracted county workers, a contract for county janitorial workers who made several allegations of abuse on the job and the creation of a country office for labor standards.”
“There is a big difference in this race about which candidate is going to stand up for workers and who is not,” von Wilpert said.
Conveniently, “Desmond’s campaign did not respond to multiple requests for comment.”
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“The choice for CA-48 is clear. While MAGA Jim Desmond has spent his career siding against working people, opposing higher wages, and measures to protect and strengthen workers’ rights on the job, Marni von Wilpert has spent her career fighting for working people and will give them a voice in Congress.”
