UPDATED ANALYSIS: 27,000 Coloradans At Risk Of Going Hungry Because Gabe Evans Voted to Gut SNAP

Evans cast a decisive vote for the largest cuts to food assistance in history

A new report shows that roughly 27,000 Coloradans could go hungry because Gabe Evans voted to slash funding for food assistance programs to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.

An overwhelming majority of registered voters in Evans’ district (81%) support the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and more than half (66%) say they’d like to see Congress increase or maintain SNAP funding levels, yet Evans still voted for massive cuts.

In addition to cutting food assistance programs, Evans’ plan kicks over 225,000 Colordans off their health care and risks thousands of in-state clean energy jobs, including many in his own district.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Thousands of Colordans, including kids, will have less to eat because Gabe Evans would rather fund tax breaks for billionaires than keep food on people’s tables. Evans is a disgrace, and voters will hold him accountable next year.”
