Democrats are competing across an expansive battleground map that stretches into traditionally-red districts that backed Trump in 2024. New reporting from USA Today profiles the Democrats poised to flip those seats on Election Day and how their message is resonating with voters.
“Democrats see a unique opportunity to widen the battlefield as election forecasters have shifted seats in their favor, recent polling has shown tightening contests, and voters remain frustrated with Trump’s stewardship of the economy.”
Blake Gendebien (NY-21): “I get my corn and soybeans right now from Quebec. The largest egg producer in the area, they get their packaging materials from Quebec. All this does is make business harder for farmers and other small businesses.”
Zach Dembo (KY-06): “[P]eople want an independent voice in Kentucky, and that is not what my opponent represents.”
Leela Gray (FL-13): “It is not about a party. It is not about me personally. It is about taking care of our community and our country.”
USA Today also highlighted Don Coover (KS-02) and Nancy Lacore (SC-01), whose experience serving our country in uniform offers a contrast with their opponents’ records supporting the agenda raising our costs.
DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley: “Democrats are on offense, expanding the battleground into traditionally-red districts as voters sour on House Republicans’ record of rising costs and broken promises. The through line of these candidates is their lifelong commitment to serving others, and they’re going to continue it by serving their communities in Congress.”
