Valadao Lies as Central Valley Protestors Remind Him “Medicaid Cuts Kill”

Yesterday, David Valadao cast the deciding vote for Republicans to pass their Tax Scam, rubber-stamping sweeping health care and food assistance cuts to give permanent tax breaks for the wealthiest few – a devastating blow that impacts Californians most in Valadao’s backyard.

Today, tens of thousands of people in the Central Valley are at risk of losing their health care. For weeks, Valadao’s constituents took to the streets, called, and wrote in protest. Turns out those calls fell on deaf ears. 

It feels eerily similar to Valadao’s past vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would have kicked millions off their insurance plans. That move cost him his seat.

“David Valadao is a spineless fraud who, to no surprise, fell in line to sell out his constituents. The Central Valley never bought his lies, and thousands of families are now at risk of losing the health care they depend on. Just shameful.”

• Resident doctor Megan Haugland…said the patients here are among the sickest she’s seen during her training.

• “It worries me that these already sick patients are not going to have the care that they need.” Haugland said a whopping 90 percent of her patients are enrolled in Medicaid.

• As a senior and concerned citizen, it is clear that cuts to Medicaid mean that thousands of citizens in our district will lose their health insurance, including children and the elderly, and that some hospitals and nursing homes will be forced to close.

Our congressman, David Valadao, has vowed to NOT support any bill that takes away health insurance from those who need it most, but he will be under intense pressure to cave.
