Valadao Votes to Fund Iran War Killing Americans & Raising Prices

Polling shows the war in Iran is as unpopular as Iraq and Vietnam wars, and Valadao – out of step with his district – supports it

This week, David Valadao voted for an ‘America Last’ budget, greenlighting billions of taxpayer dollars going towards a war that has caused gas prices to skyrocket, cost American lives, and has no end in sight.

The war is also causing increasing anxiety for Republican strategists who are openly warning the party that it will sink any sliver of hope they have in the midterms in races like Valadao’s.

Politico reports:

The U.S. and Iran are escalating strikes. More U.S. service members are dead. Gas prices are again on the rise. The administration’s diplomatic off-ramp appears to be narrowing. And Republicans working to preserve their congressional majorities are beginning to contemplate a scenario they once viewed as unthinkable: a full-scale war still dominating the political landscape in November.

“We’re preparing for the bottom to fall out,” a GOP operative working on midterm races told Playbook.

REMINDER: Since the war started, gas prices have skyrocketed, housing costs have gone up, and life has become more and more expensive. Instead of passing meaningful legislation to deliver relief to hardworking families, Valadao has decided to fall in line behind Republican leadership’s deadly and cost-raising agenda reminding Central Valley families that Valadao does not care about the voters struggling at home – a message that will cost them the majority.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
Central Valley families are begging for relief from the cost-of-living crisis David Valadao created – but all Valadao is delivering is more war, higher gas prices, and higher costs. Voters are sick and tired of Republicans’ broken promises and ready to reject Valadao in November.”
