Despite electricity prices rising twice as fast as inflation this year, David Valadao voted to raise energy bills on hardworking Americans today.
House Republicans pushed through an extreme funding bill that slashes nearly $78 million from California for programs designed to lower utility bills for American families.
The program most hurt by Valadao and Republicans’ spending bill is the Weatherization Assistance Program, which reduces energy costs for families through energy efficiency.
REMINDER: Under Valadao’s Big, Ugly Law alone, Californians would see a spike of $324 in annual energy bills.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Valadao has now voted TWICE this year to raise energy costs on hardworking Californians. His vote is both political malpractice and incredibly cruel to millions of households struggling to pay their bills. As working families across the country see their utility bills go up and up, the DCCC will make sure everyone knows Valadao is to blame when they vote in 2026.” |
