Van Orden Is All Tweets, No Action: Farm Bill Edition

Derrick Van Orden hasn’t said a word about the Farm Bill since he let it expire 16 days ago, much less done anything to pass a new one. Instead, Van Orden is sending a performative tweet about National Farmer’s Day that does nothing to help the more than 64,100 farms in Wisconsin or the 30,300 dairy jobs in his district that are at risk of missing out on critical monthly payments

Wisconsin families will also pay the price – failure to pass a new Farm Bill could cost U.S. taxpayers nearly $20 billion dollars and more than double the price of milk at grocery stores.

As he and House Republicans begin another week of chaos and dysfunction, Van Orden is cementing their place as the least productive Congress in modern history.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:

“Derrick Van Orden can tweet all he wants, but it won’t cover up his complete failure to fight for a new Farm Bill and deliver for Wisconsin farmers and families.”
