Vasquez Leads Bipartisan Push to Stop Wall Street from Snapping up Family Homes

Congressman Gabe Vasquez is fighting to address New Mexico’s housing affordability crisis by cracking down on greedy, corporate landlords and ensuring hardworking New Mexicans have a fair shot at homeownership.

As out-of-state investors drive up prices and limit access to homes for New Mexicans, Vasquez cosponsored the bipartisan Families First Housing Act and the Stop Wall Street Landlords Act, legislation that limits large investors and ensures families get the first chance to buy homes tied to federal programs.

Vasquez’s leadership builds on a strong record of delivering housing solutions for New Mexico, including cracking down on predatory investorslowering manufactured housing costspreventing price gouging during housing crises, and incentivizing construction of single-family homes.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“This is just the latest example of Gabe Vasquez delivering bipartisan solutions that lower costs for New Mexico families. He remains focused on taking on corporate greed and making homeownership more affordable for working families.”
