Vasquez Supports Local Police, Takes Action to Lower Crime in New Mexico

Congressman Gabe Vasquez is continuing his work to keep New Mexico communities safe by championing bipartisan legislation that strengthens local police departments and cracks down on organized crime.

Vasquez backed the Invest to Protect Act, which gives New Mexico’s small and rural police departments the resources they need to recruit, train, and retain officers on the job.

He also co-sponsored the Combating Organized Retail Crime Act, a bipartisan plan to take on organized crime rings, stop money laundering, and equip local law enforcement to protect local businesses and families — delivering real results for both law enforcement and the business community.

Vasquez has made lowering crime and supporting law enforcement a top priority in Congress – from meeting directly with law enforcement officers in Albuquerque, to leading party efforts to secure the border, and building on his work to crack down on cartels and keep New Mexico families safe.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Congressman Vasquez is delivering for New Mexico — giving rural and local police the tools they need, and cracking down on the crime that puts families and small businesses at risk. While others play politics, Gabe is focused on one thing: keeping New Mexico safe.”
