| Today, the DCCC and the Randy Villegas for Congress campaign released a new TV ad in the race for California’s 22nd Congressional District, “Valley with Me.” The spot serves as Villegas’ closing argument in his race to unseat David Valadao.
As a son of the Central Valley and immigrants, Randy is fighting to deliver a better future for the farmworkers, oil and gas workers, and working families that are the backbone of the community that raised him.
The ad is airing in the Fresno and Bakersfield media markets beginning today and is part of the committee’s coordinated spending in key battleground districts across the country. The coordinated spending on television in CA-22 has eclipsed $2 million for the cycle.
Transcript:
“RANDY VILLEGAS: People like us aren’t supposed to run for office.
We’re not supposed to ask for what we deserve.
Our farmers feed the world, but can’t feed their families.
Our oil and gas workers, our truck drivers fuel the country but can’t fill up their own tanks.
David Valadao has taken millions of dollars from the same corporations that are ripping us off.
We deserve a Congressman who works for us, and works as hard as we do.
When we win this election, I’m not going to Congress alone.
I’m taking the Valley with me.
I’m Randy Villegas, and I approve this message.”
