Virginia Health Clinics Shutter Thanks to Rob Wittman

Augusta Health closes three clinics in VA, citing Wittman’s Big, Ugly Bill

Congressman Rob Wittman cast a decisive vote for Republicans’ budget bill that made the largest cuts to Medicaid in history. Now, Virginians will have less access to health care thanks to his vote.

Augusta Medical Group is “closing an urgent care clinic and two primary care clinics in response to the massive reconciliation bill Congress passed this summer” with backing from Wittman. Impacted Virginians will now have to “travel further for their primary and emergency health care needs.”

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Virginians are sadly already seeing the devastating consequences of Rob Wittman’s disastrous vote to rip away health care and put rural hospitals and clinics on the chopping block. Virginians will now be forced to travel further, wait longer, and pay more money to receive primary and emergency care. It’s a devastating blow that could have been prevented if Wittman had the backbone to stand up to his D.C. party bosses. Instead, Wittman voted to hurt Commonwealth families and will be held accountable at the ballot box.”
