When Ashley Hinson had the chance to support bipartisan infrastructure investments in Iowa, she fell in line with Washington party bosses and opposed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal.
Now Hinson the Hypocrite is taking credit and touting $829.1 million of “game-changing” funding to modernize and expand locks and dams on the Mississippi River despite opposing the bill that made that funding possible.
The lock and dam funding will help Iowa farmers ship goods to market, alleviate supply chain stress, create good-paying construction jobs, and inject $72 billion more dollars into the U.S. economy – just don’t thank Ashley Hinson, who tried to block infrastructure investments for Eastern Iowans.
“Ashley Hinson’s sad and desperate attempt to take credit for funding she opposed is a slap in the face to the farmers, small business owners, and communities that will benefit from these ‘game-changing’ investments in Iowa’s infrastructure,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Despite her best efforts to rewrite her record and lie to Iowans, the truth is Hinson repeatedly stood in the way of infrastructure investments, job creation, and small business growth when it mattered most. That is Washington gamesmanship at its worst.”
