Does Missouri’s second congressional district even have a representative?
That’s what Ann Wagner’s constituents are asking – at protests in front of her office, with signs on street corners, and in their local newspapers.
And for good reason: Wagner won’t hold open, in-person town halls and rarely makes public appearances in the district.
She’s even refusing to come to work during a government shutdown, instead turning a blind eye while Missourians stare down skyrocketing health care premiums next year. Wagner’s lack of urgency is unsurprising, given she recently voted to gut health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Ann Wagner can’t hide from her disastrous record. Missourians know Wagner sacrificed their health care to pay billionaire tax cuts, and they’ll hold her accountable for it now through next November. Wagner might as well start packing up her offices now.”

First Alert 4: Voters in MO-2 are calling for communication from Congresswoman Ann Wagner
- Demonstrators stationed near Rep. Ann Wagner’s Manchester office, calling for the congresswoman to be more responsive to her constituents.
- “She is our direct line to Washington and she is refusing to be accountable for her party’s lack of action and abdication of her duties,” said Ammie Minton of Sunset Hills.
- She said there has been more urgency to hear from Wagner in recent weeks in light of the government shutdown.
- “My parents are obviously veterans, I have a military background and I worry about military families and what this means for them,” she said. “I was a mom on WIC and so I’m worried about those moms on WIC who don’t have a backup plan. And where is she? Nowhere to be found.”
- “With that abdication of duty, means she is usurping the people on this corner and in her district,” she said.
- First Alert 4 has reached out to Wagner about Sunday’s event, but has not heard back.
