Vulnerable House Republicans Admit: GOP Budget They Greenlit Would Slash Medicaid and Food Access

Today, vulnerable House Republicans on the House Agriculture Committee signed on to a phony legislative maneuver that says the quiet part out loud: the budget blueprint they voted for — TWICE — would slash Medicaid and take food off the table for hungry children and families.

Zach Nunn, Derrick Van Orden, and Don Bacon are on the run and desperately trying to distract from their disastrous bill by introducing phony resolutions that do nothing to protect Medicaid and food assistance.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“If these so-called moderates really wanted to save Medicaid and SNAP, they should have voted ‘NO’ on the Republican budget that cuts both. No matter how hard they try to run away from it, Zach Nunn, Derrick Van Orden, and Don Bacon’s vote to rip away health care and take food off the table of working families will cost them their jobs next year.”
