After his arrest in New York, disgraced ex-President Donald Trump called on Congressional Republicans to “defund the DOJ and FBI until they come to their senses.” When asked to comment or distance themselves from these calls to defund the agencies that keep us safe and uphold the rule of law, Nick LaLota, George Santos, and Anthony D’Esposito“didn’t provide any comment on whether they back Trump’s calls to defund the FBI and DOJ.”
While it’s unsurprising that George Santos is seemingly backing calls to defund federal law enforcement as he remains under numerous investigations himself, however, all three of these Long Island Republicans represent a district President Biden won and are leaving the door open to do Trump’s bidding in Congress.

“It’s shameful that LaLota, Santos, and D’Esposito are so committed to Donald Trump and the GOP’s extreme MAGA agenda, that they are unwilling to condemn attacks on federal law enforcement agencies that keep us safe and secure. Voters deserve better than MAGA rubber stamps.”
