Since the chaotic, ongoing GOP Speaker race began, John Duarte has changed his support for a nominee three times – and even attempted to exploit the crisis in Israel to bring McCarthy back to power – going as far as to remark that all Republicans needed was for Jewish Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz “to have a tea party and keep four or five of the Israeli-supporting Democrats” away from the House floor. Now, Duarte has declared far-right extremist Jim Jordan “well prepared” for the speaker position.
As Republican chaos in the House continues to prevent critical work, Republicans like Duarte are preparing to follow Donald Trump’s marching orders – just as they always do.
