Washington Examiner: “How House Democrats revamped their college outreach in a bid to win back youth voters”

Democrats are organizing their way to the finish line with a revamped colleague outreach program poised to win back young voters and carry our candidates to victory.

The Washington Examiner reports that while 2024 presidential turnout included 53% of eligible college students, 2022 midterm turnout included just 23% of voters aged 18-29.

Our 2026 campus organizing program is meant to juice that youth turnout in a midterm cycle. The DCCC’s early investments in youth outreach on college campuses and beyond has engaged young voters, gotten them registered to vote, and will get them out to the polls .

DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“Across 21 critical college campuses, the DCCC is investing in student leaders with the tools, training, and support to organize their own dorms and friend groups. These students saw what happened in 2024 and refuse to sit on the sideline — they are determined to ensure their campuses in these critical swing districts are the reason Democrats take back the House.”
