A Washington Post opinion piece today highlighted the extreme, “erratic” GOP nominees that are running in competitive House races across the country – with records that include accusations of domestic abuse, believing alien lizards control the government, and theorizing that rape victims are less likely to get pregnant.
The piece points out that Bo Hines (NC-13) “wants a 10-year moratorium on immigration” and “spoke of a ‘banana republic’ as though the common term for flailing democracies was actually referring to the clothing store of the same name.”
“The Republicans running for Congress this cycle are dangerous, extreme, and out of touch, and none more so than Bo Hines,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “North Carolinians won’t put their trust in a 27-year-old who thinks ‘banana republic’ is just a place to buy khakis. Hines’ extremism will cost him at the ballot box in November.”
