Washington Republicans Continue Never-Ending Effort to Raise Health Care Costs and Prescription Drug Prices

As we approach the two year anniversary of House Republicans’ Repeal & Ripoff vote, their lawsuit steams forward to explode health care costs for virtually all Americans

In a speech on Friday, Trump doubled down, saying he’s eliminated “the absolute worst part of Obamacare… Now we’re going for the rest”

Today, as Members of Congress return after two weeks back in their districts, Washington Republicans are continuing their push to make health care more expensive and raise the price of prescription drugs.

This is a big week for Republicans – this Saturday marks the two year anniversary of the final passage of the GOP’s Repeal & Ripoff bill in the House. Even though House Republicans’ bill never made it through the Senate, Washington Republicans have taken a new approach to jacking up health care costs for all Americans by taking their fight to court.

First in January, and then again in April, Republicans voted to back a lawsuit that would fully repeal the Affordable Care Act with no plan for replacement.

And then on Friday, at the NRA Convention, President Trump bragged about how their Tax Scam law already has raised health care costs for families across America and pledged “now we’re going for the rest” of the protections the Affordable Care Act provides.

Rather than improving our health care system, Washington Republicans are plowing forward with their lawsuit to:

”Washington Republicans are the party of higher health care costs, less coverage and zero solutions,” said DCCC Communications Director Jared Smith. ”They could be working with Democrats to bring down the cost of prescription drugs and protect people with preexisting conditions from being gouged for basic coverage, but instead they are literally in court suing to ripoff millions of hardworking families. House Republicans have done enough damage to our health care system, and the anniversary of Repeal & Ripoff is a reminder that they will never stop pushing to make health care more expensive unless they’re voted out of office.”
