*And she’s Endorsed by the NRCC
Yesterday afternoon, Congresswoman, QAnon Enthusiast and 9/11 Truther Marjorie Taylor Greene filed articles of impeachment against President Biden on his first full day in office – citing universally-discredited lies circulated by Donald Trump and her QAnon allies. While no one is surprised that a conspiracy theorist who thinks the Parkland and Newtown shootings were hoaxes lacks a shred of credibility, it must come as an unwelcome development from her fellow House Republican freshmen, who would like to have you believe they’ll work with Democrats to pass critical legislation for the American people. And yes, they want you to believe then even after they voted overwhelmingly against accepting the November election results hours after a mob they helped incite killed five people, including a police officer.
But three weeks into January, the reality is starting to sink in: NRCC endorsed Marjorie Taylor Greene is Republicans’ new frontwoman, and they can’t pretend that isn’t a liability for their entire caucus.
DCCC Spokesperson Drew Godinich released the following statement:
“After falsely claiming that the deaths of dozens of children killed in violent school shootings never happened, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene shouldn’t be entrusted with anything – let alone be allowed to craft legislation. But House Republicans’ campaign arm endorsed her, and Minority Leader McCarthy is already taking her lead when it comes to the QAnon mob. Soon the reality will set in that she is a political liability, but by the time Republicans wise up to that, it will be too late for them to untether themselves from her conspiracy theories and toxic hate.”
