WATCH: Adam Gray Delivering Results, Lowering Costs for the Central Valley

“I’m not putting up with the nonsense and trying to refocus on the issues that are important…making sure that government works for people.”

Congressman Adam Gray spoke to KSEE24’s “Sunday Morning Matters” about the bipartisan Build America Caucus and his work in Congress to deliver real results for the Central Valley.

As far-right House Republicans spin their wheels working to rip health care away from millions of Americans, Gray is focused on working across the aisle to cut red tape, lower costs, and deliver on projects and water issues crucial to his district – and it’s what is going to get him re-elected for another term.

Here’s what he had to say….

WATCH HERE

  • [We] really want to focus on how we get things to work again and actually deliver results.
  • The bottom line is people elect members of Congress…to actually make their lives better. I want to see more roads. I want to see lower utility bills, a better commute, better schools. I want to have jobs in my community, and I want to have houses I can afford.
  • Permitting reforms around energy projects, housing, [and] water projects…make a real difference in, frankly, the cost of life for everybody.
  • We’ve got to do better…this is, frankly, bureaucracy standing in the way of progress. There is a real appetite for change and we have to create incentives to get these projects up and running…Time is money.
  • This is a major economic boom, not just for agriculture, but for…the San Joaquin Valley. We need the housing, and the housing has to be coupled with the jobs. You can’t have one without the other in a growing economy.
  • [I’m] trying to set the example back here and show some political courage [by demonstrating] to people that you ought to be voting your district – not your party – all the time. I hope some of my Republican colleagues can learn that lesson.
  • Washington has way too much fighting, not enough working… that’s why I ran for Congress. I’m working in a bipartisan fashion every way that I can.
  • I’m also not putting up with the nonsense and trying to refocus on the issues that are important, whether it be cutting red tape and building more housing, building more roads, building more dams, whether it be protecting our health care against severe cuts. Making sure that government works for people.”
