Dirksen Londrigan “Targeting [Davis] for His Votes to Dismantle” the ACA
“Nobody here is worried about the profitability of pharmaceutical companies except people like Rodney Davis”
Health care is once again on the ballot and Congressman Rodney Davis’ votes to dismantle the ACA and his support for a lawsuit that would strip health coverage from 736,000 Illinoisans in the middle of a pandemic are front and center.
Betsy Dirksen Londrigan decided to run against Davis when she saw him celebrating on the White House lawn after voting to gut protections for pre-existing conditions, impose an age tax, and make health care less accessible and more expensive for Illinoisans in the 13th District. Since then, Davis has continued to vote to make his constituents’ health care less accessible and more expensive – and he’s proud of that record anytime but within six months of an election.
Highlights:
MAXWELL: …Democrat Betsy Dirksen Londrigan… sharpening her attacks against incumbent Congressman Rodney Davis and targeting him for his votes to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. Also highlighting his support for a lawsuit that could ultimately result in overturning President Obama’s signature health care law if the courts, in fact, find it unconstitutional.

DIRKSEN LONDRIGAN: Nobody here is worried about the profitability of pharmaceutical companies except people like Rodney Davis who have taken hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions. He will not lower the cost of prescription drugs because he will not stand up the pharmaceutical companies that fund his campaign.
MAXWELL: The congressman did not respond on camera, but this campaign explained his vote, saying he has supported other plans, Republican ideas, that he argues would have virtually the same effect […].
ANCHOR: Davis won re-election in 2018 by a close margin. Early polls show this district as a toss-up in 2020.
