WATCH: Dave Min Fighting Like Hell to Protect the American Dream

Representative Dave Min is fighting to bolster economic opportunity, restore the American Dream, and thwart harmful attacks on the rule of law – just as he’s done throughout his lifelong career in public service.

Min gave a powerful speech at the California Democratic Convention, promising to “fight like hell to defend America and our democracy.”

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • We as Democrats…cannot abandon our core values. There are too many people out there depending on us to be the light in this time of darkness.
  • At its best, America has always served as a shining beacon of hope for so many people across so many generations, including my parents, who survived the Korean War and came to the United States in 1970, with only a few dollars in their pockets, and their hopes and dreams. They made that long journey far away from home because they believed in the promise of America.
  • That’s the America I got to grow up in, and it’s why I’ve spent my life in public service trying to give back…Our story, my story, is your story. It’s the story of America. It’s a story of anyone coming from anywhere and achieving their American Dream.
  • We…have an obligation to rebuild that economic ladder and restore the American Dream. But first, we are going to have to fight like hell to defend America and our democracy. And we must win.
  • In Trump’s America, there is no place for people like my parents or me. The rich get richer, and the rest of us get left behind. Well, that’s not the America I grew up in, and I’m angry as hell about it and I’m going to fight like hell to make sure it’s not the America my kids inherit.
  • I know there’s only one way to beat a bully. And that’s to stand up to them. So we have to use every available tool in our toolkit to fight back.
  • The road to doing that begins now, and with all of you…Let’s go fight like hell.”
